NFL Football > NFL PLAYOFFS -- CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
Seems to me that the key to the Vikes beating the Saints rests with two variables: (a) the Viking defense; and (b) the ability of the Viking offense to ball-control their drives. The defense has to stop the Saints at least 50% of the time. Or, they have to make sure field goals are greater than 50% of their scores. You won't stop them completely. I bet the Saints get about 23 points. For Favre, he has to make sure the game doesn't turn into basketball. If he scores too quickly, it puts pressure on the defense, who have to go back out too quickly. You can't play it that way. Each time the Vikes have the ball, they need to pile up clock as much as points.
I think they'll do it. Keep the chains moving. Favre should have plenty of screen plays dialed up. The Saints need to blitz to get pressure, and they will do it. Screens and hot reads and Andrian Peterson are the key to a ball-controlled scoring march.
