Begins gender with a class discussion; then looks at the problem of patriarchy

Describes the problems of patriarchy in marriage and in education. Then, time permitting, will start suffrage

Finishes suffrage, looks at the movement in the 50s and 60s, and the shedding of essentialism

How much sameness logic do we want, and how much diference-logic should we want to tolerate?

Discusses the discrimination against Asians and the Japanese "Internment"

Looks at the scientific evidence about sexual orientation and how this issue is similar to and different from other rights struggles
