Kolshak Lizard on a Low Budget

I don't see any reason why Kolshak The Night Stalker should have been cancelled after 20 shows in its first season in the 1970s, given that it already had a low budget. Case in point: check out this giant lizard scene. I mean, there are a whole host of people here in Dayton who do a much, much better job around Halloween than what we have here. So, given that it must have cost potatoes to make, I can't see why they didn't keep it.
